Bata FC earns the right to represent Pakistan in 2nd Socca World Cup
Lahore’s Bata FC defeated Abdul FC of Karachi by 3-2 to earn the right to represent Pakistan in the 2019 Socca World Cup which is to be held later this year.
Lahore’s Bata Football Club defeated Gwadar while Abdul Football Club of Karachi won over Shinwari Football Club from Peshawar to book the grand finale of LLPK National Football Championship 2019.
Bata Football Club of Lahore and Karachi’s Abdul Football Club then turned out the winners to battle for the final in which Lahore's team once against proved to be the strongest to beat the opponent team from Karachi by the final score line of 3-2 in penalty shootout and finally took home the victory of this six-a-side football final.
The finale that was contested at the Peoples Sports Complex in Karachi witnessed a goalless draw in the scheduled time, as players from both sides did not allow any possible chances from the other side to pass through their net post thanks to the great saves from the goal keepers as well as the great team effort.
But as the penalty shootout was held to determine the final winner, Bata Football Club of Lahore took a 3-2 lead finishing the match in their favor. It was also the team from Lahore that represented Pakistan in the first Socca World Cup.
To finalize the team that would represent Pakistan in the second edition of Socca World Cup that will be hosted by Greece this time in Crete from October 12-20, the event, held under Leisure Leagues Limited, was conducted in 76 cities of the country in which 10,000 players featured to showcase their talent.
A senior official of the Leisure Leagues said that a coach from Belgium would be invited to supervise trials in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi for picking a few more players who would be inducted in the Lahore team. The official said that three foreign-based players might also be inducted in the outfit.
“In the last World Cup our performance was not that good but this time we are confident we will pull off some good results.” the official said.
