Shinwari FC takes KPK Regional Leisure Leagues PK National Championship (2019) final crown
Leisure Leagues PK small-sided Football 2019 National Championship’s line-up has been completed after Shinwari Football Club of Peshawar clinched KPK Regional Championship title, in Peshawar.
Leisure Leagues small-sided Football National Championship, whose final is yet to be contested on July 28th - Sunday, line-up has been completed after Shinwari Football Club from Peshawar clinched KPK Regional Championship title.
Peshawar's Shinwari Football Club thrashed Rawalpindi in the final by 7-3 score to qualify for The National Championship in which a total of 16 teams played in the event at four different venues and
this KPK Regional Championship also included teams from Islamabad region. Six teams qualified for the final round held in Islamabad.
The six teams namely Swabi, Peshawar (Shinwari FC), Mingora, Rawalpindi, Ghulkin and Damas were divided into two groups. Peshawar topped Group 'A' and Rawalpindi topped Group 'B'. Each team played two games in group stage.
A total of four teams – one from each province have qualified for the National Championship, which now will be held at People’s Stadium in Karachi on Sunday evening at 06:00 PM sharp.
Abdul FC from Karachi, Bata FC of Lahore and Gawadar have already qualified for National finals after winning Sindh Region, Punjab Region and Balochistan Region Championships, respectively.
The winner of the upcoming National Championship will earn a prized ticket to Greece where the team will get a chance to represent Pakistan in the second edition of the Socca World Cup. The tournament will be held in Crete, Greece from October 12 to 20. Last year, Lahore’s ICAW represented Pakistan in the inaugural edition, which was hosted by Portugal in Lisbon.
