High Performance Camp for U-16 Cricketers gets underway

A six-weeks long High Performance Skill and Training Programme for National Under-19 Cricketers commenced from today at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

A contingent of 17 players, comprising members of the national team which whitewashed their South Africa counterparts in an away seven-match one-day series recently, have gathered at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a six-weeks long High Performance Skill and Training Programme.

The coaches will analyse the performances of the players who traveled to South Africa and will also focus on enhancing the physical skills of the participants with extensive sessions on all three facets of the game.

The next big challenges of the Pakistan Under-19 team are the Asia Cup in September and next year’s World Cup.

8. Mohammad Haris (Peshawar),
9. Mohammad Wasim (FATA),
10. Naseem Shah (Lahore),
11. Qasim Akram (Lahore),
12. Rohail Nazir (Islamabad),
13. Saim Ayub (Karachi),
14. Shiraz Khan (Rawalpindi),
15. Niaz Khan (Peshawar) and
16. Khayyam Khan (Abbottabad).

Earlier, a four-week long High Performance Camp for the emerging Under-16 cricketers concluded, which was earmarked by interactive lectures, rigorous training and fitness sessions under the watchful eye of the NCA coaches, the 20 players were put to task on different aspects of the game.
