Pakistan to face off arch-rivals, India in 14th West Asia Baseball Cup semi-final
It will be an INDO-PAK clash in the West Asia Baseball Cup 2019 semi-final today at Diyagama Baseball Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
India have defeated Nepal and qualified for the semi final of the 14th West Asia Baseball Cup where as the fourth team, Iran have beaten Bangladesh to book a place in final four.
Sh. Mazhar Ahmad, Secretary General Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) informed that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the semi final as Sri Lanka got first position in Group A and will face Group B's second team Iran while Pakistan got first position in Group B and will face Group A's second team India.
Originally, there was not suppose to be an INDO-PAK match but due to the change in schedule before the start of this tournament, now the two rival nations will face off each other in the second semi-final encounter which is to be played today.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President PFB said that India gave tough time to Sri Lankan team, who is defending their title, in their league match. And according to him, the best match between Pakistan and India will be seen today. Both the teams have shown good performance throughout the tournament.
