Punjab squad trails for 65th National Hockey Championship 2019 on 19th July
PHF announced the trails for Punjab team selection for the 65th Air Marshal (late) Mohammad Nur Khan National Hockey Championship is slated to be held on 19th July at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
Pakistan Hockey Federation announced that the trails for Punjab team selection for the 65th Air Marshal (late) Mohammad Nur Khan National Hockey Championship is slated to be held on 19th July at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
Domestic hockey’s premier event, the 65th Air Marshal (late) Mohammad Nur Khan National Hockey Championship, will be played from July 23 to August 7 at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium, Karachi.
The Pakistan Hockey Association is oranising the competition which will be participated by leading hockey teams from all the affiliated units.
Players from all over the Punjab can participate in the trails while the selection committee will comprises of PHF secretary Asif Naz Khokar, Ajmal Khan, Rana Zahir and Muhammad Zahid.
The format of the championship is likely to be changed. Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Olympian Asif Bajwa indicated in a recent statement that the format would be changed to make the championship more competitive.
The championship carries prize money of Rs. 5 Millions.
The PHF wants to pick budding talented players through the national championship and train them in the academy which will be established in near future with the collaboration of Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).
The championship will be played according to Tournament Regulations issued by FIH. Departments, regions, and provincial teams will participate in the championship. There will be no age restriction for the players as PHF wants to test maximum number of players.
