The 20-year-old Ali Haider regarded to be one of the most promising youngsters of the country, lost to Narongdat Takantong of Thailand by 4-1 with the final score line of 34-65, 37-65, 6-86(54), 45-40, 40-63.
Earlier, national U-21 champion Ali showed flashes of brilliance in his pursuit as he sent Langyi Ryan Li of Hong Kong packing 3-1.
Meanwhile, his contemporary Sheikh Mohammad Mudassir, lost to Deng Haohui of China by 4-2 with the final score line of 90-26, 67-32, 12-54, 42-85, 74-49.
Earlier, Punjab’s Mudassir, overpowered Seif Noureldeen of Egypt in tough battle by 3-2 with the final score line of 38-56, 1-79, 79-18, 15-62, 52-31, 43-53.
Both Pakistani players won three matches each out of four in their respective groups to propel into last-32 round.
