Punjab’s Ali was in wonderful form throughout the competition as he won the opening frame with a margin of 66 points at 73-7. Austria player came from behind to equalized the lead at 1-1 as he won the tense second frame at 55-52.
Ali came back strongly and continued his aggressive play as he won the third frame at 88-21. Ali put pressure on the brilliant Oskar as he didn’t allowed Austria player to play freely to win the fourth frame by 72-22.
The national U-21 champion was home with the final score line of 73-7, 52-55, 88-21, 72-22 to register his second win in three games.
Meanwhile, his contemporary Sheikh Mohammad Mudassir, who sent Chinese cueist Liu Hongyu packing straight the other day, lost his second fixture to Thai opponent Phuttakarn Kimsuk by 1-3 frames. The Thai won the battle 97-22, 59-80, 71-13, 72-65.
The league matches will conclude on Thursday(today) followed by knockout round.
