Pakistani players continues their winning streak in Borneo Junior Open Squash Tournament 2019 as Humam Ahmed, Muhammad Huzaifa Ibrahim, Mohammad Ashab and Khalil Waleed move into the semifinals of their respective age category.
Humam Ahmed defeated third seed Gondi Rohan Arya of USA by 3-1. Ninth seeded Humam produce a skillful game to win the tough opening game by 14-12. Gondi bounced back strongly as he leveled the tally 1-1 at 11-8. Pakistani junior showed great squash to win the next two games at 13-11, 11-6 and move into the semifinal of U-15 category.
13 year old squash sensation Muhammad Huzaifa Ibrahim overpowered compatriot Muhammad Hanif by 3-1. Former under Junior Asian Number 1 Huzaifa produce skillful game to advance into the semifinal with the final score line of 11-5, 11-2, 10-12, 11-6.
Humam is down against top seed Lau Chris Hui Rong of Malaysia while Huzaifa is up against Roslan Aiman Hakim in the semifinals of u-15 category.
In the under-17 category, third seeded Irfan Mohammad Ashab overpowered unseeded Jeeva Praviin Jeeva of Malaysia with the final score line of 11-4, 11-1, 11-4. Irfan will play against top seed Chan Gregory of Australia in the semifinal.
Unseeded Khalil Waleed cause the major upset in the tournament as he defeated fifth seeded Lau Caleb Hui Xuan of Malaysia by 3-2 with the final score line of 7-11,11-7,7-11,11-6,14-12. Khalil will face fifth seeded Rajarathinam Dhirren of Malasyia in the u17 category semifinal.
