Pakistan Super Veterans Cricket Team plummets in their England Tour Matches (2019)

Pakistan Super Veterans team once again fell, this time losing to Australian team by 56 runs in their second-last match of England Tour (2019) played at Oswestry Cricket Ground in Shropshire County.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat and scored 299 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. Mark Brady scored 83 runs in 81 balls with 8 fours. Murray Harrison scored 55 with 2 fours and 2 sixes, Ray Smith 42 runs with 3 fours, Mark Gashell 38 runs with 4 fours and Glenn Richardson 32 runs with three fours were the other prominent run getters. 

For Pakistan Veterans, Raja Arshad took 2 for 65 and Babar Basharat, Mansoor Akhtar, Fawad Ijaz and Ejaz Faquih took one wicket each.

Pakistan Super Veterans, chasing a big target of 300 runs to win, were all out for 243 in 46 overs. Pakistan batted well unlike their previous three matches of the tour. Raja Arshad opening the innings batted brilliantly to score a fine 136 off just 109 balls with 13 fours and 8 huge sixes.

Babar Basharat scored 43 runs in 60 balls with 7 fours and Haji Arshad scored 19 runs.

For the Australian side Michael Frame took 4 for 60 and dale Thornton 2 for 47.

At the conclusion of the match Mark Gashell, captain of Australia, invited Pakistan Super Veterans team to Australia to play first over-60 World Cup next year. Fawad Ijaz Khan, captain Pakistan Super Veterans team, in return also invited the Australian Veterans to visit Pakistan.

Raja Arshad, for his all-round performance, was declared Player of the Match. Pakistan Super Veterans will play their last match of the tour against Cheshire County today at Warrington Cricket Club in Warrington.
