Pakistan's Babar Masih secure the runner-up spot of Asian 6-Reds snooker Championship 2019 title at Doha.
Pakistan's Babar who earned the distinction of becoming the top ranked cueist of the country secure the runner-up spot as former silver medalist of IBSF World Snooker Championship Amir Sarkhosh clinched the top spot by 7-4 to claim the title of Asian 6-Reds snooker Championship 2019 title at Doha.
The final match was one of the close contests of this championship where both of them compete really hard.
When 28-year-old Sarkhosh Amir was leading 2-1, Babar sent a quality break of 44 and levelled the match 2-2. Amir immediately responded on that break by making 42 in next frame to maintain his lead.
Earlier, Sarkhosh outplayed Pakistan’s Asjad Iqbal 6-2 (31-24, 43-29, 40-8, 0-39, 36-16, 35-21, 1-47, 44-7) while Babar sent Indian Kamal Chawala packing 6-4 (12-44, 0-67, 43-0, 44-0, 46-0, 35-8, 42-0, 0-58, 0-50, 33-20) in the semi-finals to set title clash.
The sea-saw battle had begun and both were at par 4-all when Babar made a mistake and Amir capitalized with frame win.
10th frame was really close which Amir managed to secure by only 1 point to raise the lead to 6-4 and then in 11th frame, he did not even allow Babar to open the account and claimed the frame 42-00.
Iranian player Amir Sarkhosh is now the Asian 6Reds Champion for the year 2019 by 7-4 with the final score line of (11-42, 44-1, 48-18, 0-44, 42-0, 28-30, 50-0, 1-44, 35-18, 32-31, 42-0).
Being semi-finalists, Kamal Chawla of India and Asjad Iqbal of Pakistan shares the joint bronze. The prize ceremony will take place on 29th along with the Asian Team Championship 2019.
The Asian Team Championship starts on Wednesday.
