Spinner, Farhan Bhatti starred with a rich haul for Faisal Gymkhana as the team qualified for the final of this mega tournament with a an easy six-wicket defeat of the tournament hosts Rising Star Cricket Club.
The second semi-final played at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Rising Star Cricket Club's batsmen crumbled against the leg-spin of Farhan before the entire side was bowled out in 24.1 overs for a paltry 126 as just Afnan Khan (44, six fours and one six), Saddam Bhutto (35, five boundaries) and Rehmat Ullah (30, four fours) managed to play meaningful knocks.
Man of the match, Farhan finished with excellent analysis of six wickets for 36 runs from seven overs.
Faisal Gymkhana reached their modest target in 21.2 overs by making 140-4. Hasan Javed struck nine fours and one six while scoring 64 and Irfan Ali contributed 40 that included five hits to the fence.
According to Touseef Siddiqui, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, the final between Faisal Gymkhana and Malir Gymkhana, who whipped Hansot Gymkhana by 158 runs in the first semi-final, will be played later in this week which is yet to be confirmed.
