Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Mexican partner Santiago Gonzalez beat Indo-Kiwi team of Leander Paes and Marcus Daniell to lift the pre-Wimbledon grass court ATP Challenger Championship in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
Pakistani tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Mexican partner Santiago Gonzalez beat Indo-Kiwi team of Leander Paes and Marcus Daniell to lift the pre-Wimbledon grass court ATP Challenger Championship in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
The top seed Pak-Mexico duo defeated second seed Paes and Daniell in straight sets with the final score line of 6-3, 6-4 to lift the title.
Earlier, the pair has defeated France’s Ugo Humbert and Romania’s Marius Copil 6-0, 6-4 in the semi-final stage of the tournament.
The title was the third for Qureshi and Gonzalez after they picked the Nottingham title last week. The top-seeded pair defeated the Chinese pair of Mao Xin Gong and Ze Zhan 4-6, 7-6, 10-5.
Earlier this year, they won the ATP Houston Championship in the USA and were the runners-up at the ATP Championship of New York in February.
