Asjad, Bilal, Babar, Zulfiqar shines in Asian 6-Reds Snooker Championship 2019

Pakistani quartet comprising Asjad Iqbal, Mohammad Bilal, Babar Masih and Zulfiqar A. Qadir propelled into the knockout round in the Asian 6-Reds Snooker Championship at Doha. Asjad, Bilal and Babar have emerged group champions while Zulfiqar’s last match will decide the top two positions of his group.
Asjad overcome Hong Kong’s fighting Lin Tang Ho in fully stretched last league match 5-4 to top Group ‘A’. He was home 33-38, 5-40, 62-0, 15-61, 36-34, 6-39, 48-0, 28-15, 30-17.
Similarly, Bilal blanked Qatar’s Khamis Alobaidli straight 68-0, 44-16, 43-0, 58-0, 71-0 to maintain a clean slate in Group ‘B’ while Babar thrashed Indian Akshay Kumar 5-1 (79-0, 56-0, 52-7, 67-18, 7-40, 36-14) to end Group ‘C’ engagements on winning note.
Though Zulfiqar has also won three matches in Group ‘K’ but his last tie against Afghanistan’s Nadir Khan Sultani will decide group champion as both have won three matches apiece.
Zulfiqar meanwhile, gave a 5-2 drubbing to Oman’s Haitham Bin Ali (43-17, 34-23, 1-41, 61-3, 18-42, 53-6, 49-7) to continue his unbeaten run.
