Pakistani pro boxer, Mohammad Waseem to make a comeback against John Chuwa on Glasgow’s MTK Fight Night on June 22
Two-time WBC world silver flyweight champion, Mohammad Waseem of Pakistan is all set to return to the ring with his comeback bout against John Chuwa on 22nd June at MTK Global Glasgow Centre, Scotland.
Mohammad ‘The Falcon’ Waseem was controversially denied the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world flyweight crown in his last bout when he went down against, now MTK Global team-mate, Moruti Mthalane in Kuala Lumpur in Jun 2018 and since then he hasn't been seen in action but is determined to rise to the top level again.
His first hurdle is an eight-rounder against the talented Tanzanian, John Chuwa (17-3, 9 KOs) but as he looks to steal the show at the Emirates Arena, Waseem is full of confidence as he said:
“I’ve seen Chuwa fight before. I know what I can do against him and I’m very confident about beating him. I’ll show I’m a champion on the fight night. I’m working very hard to be in the best shape and sparring has been very good so I’ll be ready for whatever Chuwa brings on the night."
He also expressed his gratitude for MTK Global saying:
“I’m pleased to be with MTK Global and training with Danny Vaughan. We’ve changed lots of combinations and adjusted my style. Danny is a very good trainer. This is a good fight for me to come back with but I know I’m going to win on the night. I can’t wait for the atmosphere. It’s my debut as an MTK Global fighter and they’re great people who are supporting me. I’m sharp, fit and I just can’t wait for that first bell.”
Joining Waseem on a glittering bill in Glasgow is Lee McGregor’s Commonwealth bantamweight title defence against Scott Allan, Kieran Smith’s WBC International Silver super-welterweight title defence against Ivan Montero plus Lewis Benson vs. Renald Garrido and a busy undercard.
The 31 year old boxer from Quetta holds an historic record of 8-1, 6 KOs and is going to have a comeback at the MTK Global Glasgow Centre in a bout which is scheduled to be held on 22nd June against an Tanzanian counterpart, John Chuwa. Waseem is undoubtedly one of the best boxers produced by Pakistan.
