Pakistan to feature in Asian Men's Netball Championship 2019
As many as 13 nations will vie for top honors in the Asian Men's Netball Championship which is scheduled to be held in December this year in Singapore.
As disclosed by Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) President, Mudassar Arain, Pakistan's National Netball Team of Men will be taking part in the 2019 Asian Netball Championship which will see several Asian nations whose teams will be up against each other so as to earn the ultimate title of the championship.
Participating countries include: Japan, China, Korea, Maldives, Thailand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Malaysia and Brunei.
This international championship also serves as a qualifying round for the 2020 Global Asian Netball Cup for which top three teams from this championship will qualify to prove their mettle further in the next year's October championship which will be played in Australia.
Mudassar Arain, President Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) said,
"The players are not participating in many international events due to less resources because Pakistan Sports Board have also stopped the grant. The government will recover the grant of sports soon so that sports can be promoted in the country."
The federation is at tries to arrange a quick training camp for the players for this upcoming mega international event, which might help in developing motivation among the players with determination of winning gold this time for the country.
Sri lanka is the reigning champion of the tournament and also the most successful team, having won the Asian Netball Championships five times. Last year Pakistan stood at 11th mark in the same championship.
