Pakistan vs India World Cup 2019 clash on Father’s Day

The International Father’s Day as well as India and Pakistan will also play World Cup 2019 match against each other at Old Trafford on June 16.

Undoubtedly, the India-Pakistan cricket match is one of the most important matches when it comes to cricket. Pakistan stands at the 6th position with 3 points from 3 games while New Zealand and India are the two teams that haven’t faced any defeat until now.

As of now, the top 4 teams are New Zealand, England, India, and Australia. These teams have looked impressive, however, with plenty of cricket yet to be played, the standings are expected to fluctuate all throughout the tournament.

“Pakistan is a dangerous team. In cricket, you cannot say anything. This Pakistan team is capable. There was a collapse in the last match. India has a better chance. Like he said, India and England are the two favorites,” Misbah said.

“Given the rivalry and intensity, you never know what can happen in World Cups. Pakistan was strong in the 1990s yet India would win every time in World Cups,” he added.

“India vs Pakistan is not as big as India against England. Maybe from the media perspective, India vs Pakistan is more hyped up. But from a cricketing aspect, India vs England is more important. India can beat this Pakistan team 9 times out of 10 times,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Back in 2017, Pakistan have won the Champions Trophy cricket final after beating their archrivals India by 180 runs at the Oval ground in Britain's capital, London.

In the current era, India is the stronger team. However, historically Pakistan still commands the edge. In the shot format (ODI), at the Champions Trophy, Pakistan have won 72 matches to India’s 52. In the 80s, Pakistan dominated us, but the sides were almost equal in the 90s and early 2000s. Yet, Pakistan still won more games. But from 2007 till now, the momentum has shifted in India’s favour.

For most fans, however, Pakistan-India matches remain a matter of life and death. “I’ll be in Manchester to see India thrash Pakistan. I will settle for nothing less,” said Sandeep Singh as he looked at a stall set outside The Oval to buy Indian flags ahead of Sunday’s game against Australia. Pakistan and India will meet in an eagerly-awaited World Cup game at Old Trafford on June 16.
