Heroes CC crown champions of 34th Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Tournament
Heroes CC Quetta stunned Quetta Gladiators Academy by a well deserving five-wicket victory in the final match of Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Tournament 2019 which concluded successfully at KG Cricket Ground in Karachi.
Batting first after skipper, Salah Ud Din had won the toss in the final match, the Quetta Academy collected 146-8 with opener Zubair Mengal (39 off 33 balls, five boundaries), Ghulam Haider (unbeaten run-a-ball 37, two fours and one six) and Shabbir Ahmed (35 off 16, three sixes and two fours) providing the bulk of runs.
Slow left-armer, Aamir Sohail bagged 2-22 in four overs while captain Fawad Khan’s off-spin fetched 2-22 in two overs.
Heroes Cricket Club Quetta reached their target of 147 in 19 overs for the loss of five wickets with Usman Maya (345 off 36, two fours) and Fawad (18 off 17) adding 38 for the match-winning unbroken stand of 38 after openers Khushdil Shah (24 off 11, three fours and one six) and Sami Ur Rehman (22 off 14, two fours and one six) made handy contributions.

Nadeem Omar was the honorable chief guest, who witnessed the final encounter between the two teams and also gave away cash prizes and trophies to the high achievers of the tournament.
Fawad from the champion team was later adjudged Man of the Match and received the winners’ trophy and cash award of Rs. 800,000 while Quetta Gladiators Academy settled for the runners-up trophy and Rs. 400,000 worth of cash pursue.
Quetta Gladiators Academy’s Abdul Nasir (2123 runs and 12 wickets) was adjudged Player of the Tournament and the Best Bowler. Omar Cricket Club’s Usman Khan was awarded with the title of Best Batsman (288 runs. Sami and Agha Salman shared the Best Fielder title while Shahbaz Javed won the Best Wicket-Keeper award.
The presentation ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries including Karachi Gymkhana President, Fawad Saleem Malik, Tariq Hilaly, Abbas Saifuddin Valika, Jam Nafees, Tehseen Feroze, Asjad Ali, Altaf Agha, Irfan-ur-Rehman and Tabish Javed.
The current year's edition of Karachi Gymkhana Ramzan Festival Cricket Tournament marked its 34th edition for the Omar Associates Trophy, which was held with the collaboration of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) and featured a noticeable number of cricket teams participating in this mega event.
