Eaton CC books semi-final berth in 34th Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Festival
Rangoonwala New Al Habib CC lost their chance to advance into the semi-final stage of the Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Festival 2019, at the hands of Eaton CC by 3 wickets in the 3rd quarter-final game played at KG cricket ground in Karachi.
Ramiz Aziz turned into an unlikely bowling hero as Eaton Cricket Club booked their spot in the semi-final of this mega cricket festival with a three-wicket win against Rangoonwala New Al Habib Cricket Club in the third quarter-final clash played yesterday.
The skipper’s occasional off-spin fetched brilliant figures of 4-17 as Rangoonwala team was bowled out for 124 on the last ball of their 20-over innings.
Eaton, in reply, lost four wickets for 21 runs before Mohammad Sudais (32 off 33 balls, four boundaries) and Nadeem Javed (41 off 38, four fours and one six) added 72 to put on their side on course.
Leg-spinner, Mohammad Ilyas (3-22) and slow left-armer Fawad Khan (2-20) shared the bowling honors for Rangoonwala team.
Ramiz was later declared Man of the Match.
