1st Ramadan Floodlight Games 2019 continues in full swing

In the Athletic Meet , 100m Wajid won gold medal, followed by Afnan and Abdul Arif in first ever Ramadan Floodlight Games 2019 at seven different venues across the province.

Ramadan Floodlight Games is continue in full swing at Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar. The games carrying 17 different games for 3000 male and female players at seven different venues across the province. 

In the Athletic Meet in Qayyum Stadium, 100m Wajid won gold medal, followed by Afnan and Abdul Arif. Waqas, Bilal, Qadir, Murad and Zeeshan were the other position holders. The athletic meeting also included event like 4X100 relay, 4X200 relay, 4X400 relay, Mix Relay (100m first runner, 200m second runner, 300m third runner, 400m fourth runner besides 4X800 relay.

Earlier, In the opening match of the Kabaddi event Mardan stunned Peshawar by 30-25. Nowshera Charsadda will clash against Nowshera and the winner will play against Mardan in the final.

Senior Minister for Sports, Culture, Tourism and Youth Affairs Muhammad Atif Khan inaugural ceremony of the newly introduced Ramadan Floodlight Games which got under way here at Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar. Director General Sports Asfandiyar Khan, MD TCKP Junaid Khan, Vice President Pakistan Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah, Director Operation Syed Saqlain Shah, representatives from various associations were also present. 

He said addition of new Games Ramadan Floodlight Games in seven regions is to involve our youth in healthy sports activities. “It is a good sign that the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are giving result not only at national but at international levels,” the minister added.

Peshawar is hosting Football, Tug of War at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium, Kabaddi and Athletic are organized in Qayyum Sports Complex, Squash, Badminton, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Karate are organized at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Badminton and Hockey are playing at Makan Bagh Sports Complex, Mingora Swat, Football and Hockey are at Mardan Sports Complex, Cricket are at Abbottabad, Badminton, Football and Cricket are organized at Abdul Wali Khan Football Complex while Swabi is hosting volleyball tournament.
