Saadi Abbas pockets gold medal in Omar Bin Hayder Karate Cup 2019

Pakistan's Ghulam Saadi Abbas once again proved his mettle by clinching another gold medal at the Omar Bin Hayder Karate Cup 2019 which was held at Sheikh Zayed Sports Complex, Al Fujairah, UAE.

UAE Karate Federation organized Omar Bin Hayder Karate Cup 2019 for the first time ever which was open to all the local clubs, from which several professional Karate fighters took part. 

This mega Karate event allowed every club to play with professional players thus all the clubs had different international players from across the world, some of which included: India, Egypt, Cameroon, Romania, Jordan, UAE and Pakistan.

Dubai based, Pakistani top karatika, Ghulam Saadi Abbas once again made the country's flag fly high with his another win of gold medal at the  Omar Bin Hayder Karate Cup 2019. He featured in team event where it was 3 VS 3 fights in which he won the very first round against Kalba Club, then maintained his game in the second round as well and won it over Al Nsar Club, he did not lose his momentum and kept on improving with his skills in the third round and defeated Dubai Police Club and his final win came against Sharjah Club. 

Saadi represented Pakistan once again through his club that is Shabab Al Ahli, who now stands at the top spot of this event with clinching gold medal and is followed by Sharjah Club on the runner-up position with them, claiming silver medal and Al Nasar Club along with Abudhabi Police, jointly managed the third spot, settling for the bronze medal. 



To his brilliant achievement of a gold medal yet again, Saadi said, 

"It was a great initiative taken by UAE Karate Federation, they organized such an event for the very first time and its obviously a good feeling to play and win against professional athletes. It gave me more self confidence and will help me for my up coming Olympic quantifying events ."
