Rs. 4.5 Million KPK first Floodlight Ramadan Games 2019 commences today
3000 players are participating in the first ever KPK Floodlight Ramadan Games which starts today simultaneously at seven different venues across the province including 18 different disciplines.
The first Floodlight Ramadan Games starts today(14th May) simultaneously at seven different venues across the province, Director Operation Syed Saqlain Shah announced.
It is for the first time that such big Games including 18 different disciplines to be organized at Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, Abbottabad, Charsadda and Swabi under the lights, Syed Saqlain Shah said. He said earlier, each of the District Sports Officer would organized different events in their respective districts but this year more games have been included so ensure maximum participation of the players during Holy month of Ramadan.
He said it is a clear instruction of the Senior Minister for Sports, Tourism, Culture and Youth Affairs, Muhammad Atif Khan to extend all out facilities to the players during these Games. The Games would cost Rs. 4.5 million, he said.
He disclosed that Peshawar would host Football, Tug of War at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium, Kabaddi and Athletic will be organized in Qayyum Sports Complex, Squash, Badminton, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Karate will be organized at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Badminton and Hockey will be played at Makan Bagh Sports Complex, Mingora Swat, Football and Hockey will be played at Mardan Sports Complex, Cricket will be played at Abbottabad, Badminton, Football and Cricket will be organized at Abdul Wali Khan Football Complex while Swabi would host Volleyball tournament.
He said a total of 3000 players would be part of the Games. He said all arrangements in this connection have already been finalists. He said the position holders would be awarded medals, trophies and cash prizes. The Games would continue for a week, he said.
Syed Saqlain Shah disclosed that a grand opening ceremony in this connection will be organized at Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar at 1:30 pm wherein Senior Minister for Sports Culture, Tourism and Youth Affairs Muhammad Atif will grace the occasion as chief guest and will formally inaugurate the Games.
