Pakistan seeks to host 3rd Asian Veterans Table Tennis Championship 2019
The Pakistan Table Tennis Association is pursuing to host the third edition of South Asian Veteran Table Tennis Championships 2019 in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Table Tennis Association is pursuing to host the third edition of South Asian Veteran Table Tennis Championships 2019 in Pakistan.
“We have requested to South Asian Table Tennis Association to give us chance to host the 3rd South Asian Veterans Table tennis tournament but before the tournament we have to form Pakistan Veterans Table tennis Association “President Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) Khawaja Hassan Wadood said.
The championships will be played over 40, over 50, over 60 and over 65 age categories. There will be men and women team events, singles and doubles events. The first South Asian Veterans Table Tennis Tournament was held in India and the second was in Sri Lanka.
If South Asian Table Tennis Association will give the hosting to Pakistan then the tournament would likely to be held at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad adding the teams from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Pakistan would participate in the event.
The third South Asian Veteran Table Tennis Tournament is slated to be held in November this year.
In 2017, Pakistan’s star player Asim Qureshi in the 50+ Men’s finals secured the runner up spot as Sunil Babras of India celebrated his birthday with a convincing victory at home soil.
