34th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Festival Cricket Tournament from May 6
Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) will be organizing Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Festival Cricket Tournament 2019 which is slated to begin on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
A media briefing at the Karachi Gymkhana’s Banquet Hall yesterday disclosed the details about the Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Festival Cricket Tournament which will be organized by Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) into the current year which will mark its 34th edition.
Speaking to the media, KCCA President, Nadeem Omar announced that he would use his good offices for the live telecast of the knockout games of the tournament. On a question asked for the logic of imposing fee for organizing club tournaments he said:
“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may advise us to pay additional charges of Rs. 1 million for beaming the event but we will not burden the participating teams,” he declared.
International umpire, Riaz Ud Din, who is one of the technical committee members, revealed that the PCB fee of Rs. 500,000 had already been paid by the Gymkhana authorities.
Fawad Salim Malik, Karachi Gymkhana President also spoke about the monumental role of the club in supporting sports in general and cricket in particular over the years.
Tabish Master (Master Oil), Abida Hasanali (Soneri Bank), Khalid Mani (KFC) and Irfan Ur Rahman (Acme Technologies & Sports Intelligence) represented their respective companies in the meeting.
This four-week long tournament will be offering an attractive amount of prize pursue of Rs. 1.5 million.
