Rawalpindi to host DCA Club Cricket Championship 2019
Leading cricket clubs of Rawalpindi district will feature in the 2019 DCA Club Cricket Championship which will commence from 10th June at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
District Cricket Association (DCA) Rawalpindi ad-hoc committee member, Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim Ahmed Janjua, announced that a Club Cricket Championship will be organized by Rawalpindi District Cricket Association (DCA) under the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) one-day rules and regulations from June 10th.
Raja Wasim also informed that the captains’ formal meeting of the event will be held on 26th May at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. He said only the players of clubs, registered with DCA Rawalpindi, can participate in this championship.
“To introduce young players, it is decided that at least three players in each team’s playing XI must be aged under-19. All the matches of the event will be conducted as per the schedule issued by the organizing committee.”
The inaugural match will be played on 10th June and it will be only the organizing committee’s right to change or alter the matches' schedule. All the teams will be divided in various groups consisting of three teams.
The matches within the group will be played on round league basis and the top teams will qualify for the second round. The timings of toss for every match will be 09:00 AM sharp and remaining timings will also be announced with the commencement of the championship.
