In the second round, ninth seed Tayyab Aslam settling down well and displayed quality squash, where he pile more and more pressure on Mohammad Usama of Sri Lanka, who was just looking cornered and had no clues what was coming next at him. Tayyab clinched the first game by 11-2 in one sided encounter.
World rank no 51 Tayyab started the second game with new pledge and confidence as he was pressing hard and putting Usman to run to all corners of the court. Tayyab played one of the best squash of the tournament and took second game 11-5.
Usman matched fire with fire for the majority of third game and occasionally, he did pose serious challenge to Tayyab, but he committed unforced and uncharacteristic mistakes, which simply gifted third game to Tayyab 11-4 in 17 minutes struggle.
World # 82 Muhammad Asim Khan from Pakistan gave tough time to win the match against his Philippines opponent Reymark Bergonia in three games battle by 3-0. Asim started brightly as he took the game by 11-6 then Pakistani star started playing aggressively to won the second game 11-9. Asim didn't allowed Reymark to play freely as he produced skill full game to win it by 11-9 in 33 minutes struggle.
Tayyab will now face third seed Max Lee of Hong Kong and Asim will compete against fourth seed Leo Au of Hong Kong.
Earlier, Pakistan’s top squash players Tayyab Aslam and Asim Khan have been seeded 9th and 11th, both the players got byes in the first round.
