Adnan urges PTF and Government to support tennis
Being the no.1 tennis player Adnan in age category (U16) urge Pakistan tennis federation and Government of Pakistan to focus on other sports than cricket and support the top players in every sport as well as tennis.
Tennis is regarded as one of the most prestigious sport in history, being the no.1 tennis player in age category (U16) Adnan urge Pakistan tennis federation and Government of Pakistan to focus on other sports than cricket and support the top players in every sport as well as tennis.
Adnan said "I just came back from junior davis cup and I was the no.1 player of the team accompanied by the second player Zalan and the third player Rayan and our coach/captain Sir Rasheed Malik. Over there I saw that every other country was well equipped and funded by their government except Pakistan for example we didnt get dailies, we didnt get good material clothing etc."
He further added Pakistan beat some of the top teams like Kazakhstan, Philippines and srilanka, and didnt get relegated to pre qualifying and also ended up at 13th position which was better than last year's team. I believe this was a very good achievement for us keeping in mind the support we got, we got very less recognition and we didn't get honored for our achievements.
In other countries the federations sponsor the top 10 players of every age category and give them thousands of dollars to travel for Itfs futures and challengers which allows them to play freely and compete at the highest level, compete at all the tournaments locally , nationally , and internationally and give them all the equipment needed as well hotels abroad. In a nutshell their cost is covered.
This makes them mentally stronger and gives the options to choose which tournaments they can play and also gives them the best practice which is "match practice". If Pakistan can support cricket they should definitely be able to support tennis players otherwise parents will not be in the favor of children continuing the sport as a profession and the players would lose their motivation.
Adnan said I am hopeful PTF will take charge as well as well as the new government of Pakistan but I feel like the message needs to conveyed to them by us Players and they need to know more about other sports. I believe ALLAH will help us if we keep working hard and keep doing good, and Pakistan will be recognized sooner or later at international level In Sha ALLAH
