Sameer overcomes Rahim to earn wild-card entry in U-14 Tennis Championship

The wild card entry is now complete after the qualifying round match between Sameer of Lahore and Rahim of Islamabad.
“We had already granted wild card to four players and for awarding the fifth and final card, we had to hold a qualifying match between Saeemer and Rahim,” said PTF secretary Khalid Rehmani.
Sameer won the match comfortably, outclassing his opponent 6-0, 6-1.
The players who were granted direct wild card entry include Abdul Samad Areejo (Karachi), Naalain Abbas (Lahore), Wee Yi Shen (Malaysia) and Subhan Bin Salik (Islamabad).
According to Khalid, besides local players three international players, one each from Sri Lanka, England and Malaysia were feature in the event.
The main round of 16 players starts on Tuesday.
According to the draws, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman is the top seed followed by second seed Hamza-bin-Rehan, England’s Mohammad Said (third) and Sri Lanka’s Yanishkhe Cooray (fourth).
The opening ceremony for the event will be held at 11:00am. Salim Saifullah Khan, PTF president, will be the chief guest.
