Karachi to face Hyderabad in 6th Inter-Divisional Softball Championship final
Karachi and Hyderabad teams book their place in the final of Inter-Divisional Softball Championship 2019 when they defeated their respective opponents in the semi-finals matches played at Hyderabad Club in Hyderabad.
Shaheed Benazirabad fell to Sindh Games gold medalists, Karachi team when they were crushed by a 17-7 score line in the first semi-final match. In their first inning, Karachi scored seven runs followed by nine in the second inning. The star players for Karachi team proved to be Shumaila and Bushra Javed who each scored three runs for the winner team.
To which, the Shaheed Benazirabad team responded with one and six runs respectively in their first and second innings. They added only one in the last inning.
Whereas the second semi-final clash witnessed much bigger win then Karachi team by the hosts Hyderabad, whose teammade their way into the final of the championship by completey dominating the match and thrashing the Mirpurkhas team on a 15-2 score line.
Hyderabad scored seven and eight runs in their first and second innings respectively, while Mirpurkhas responded with only two runs.
Thus now the third position match of the championship will be played between, Benazirabad and Mirpurkhas teams, today along with the final between the two qualified teams that are: Karachi and the defending champions, Hyderabad.
The 6th Inter-divisional Softball Championship in being organized by Sindh Softball Association (SSA) in collaboration with Sindh Department of Sports and Youth Affairs and Hyderabad Divisional Administration.
All the matches are played under the floodlights.
Six divisional teams are competing in the championship which have been divided into two pools. Pool A comprises of the defending champions and host Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur while Group B includes: Karachi, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad.
