Int’l golfer, Taimur creates new Pakistani record in Inter-Services Golf Championship 2019
Pakistani international golfer, Taimur Naseer created a new Pakistani record of hitting 13 under 59 at the Inter-Services Golf Championship 2019 which is in progress at PAF Golf Course in Islamabad.
International golfer of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Senior Tech, Taimur Naseer created a new Pakistan record of hitting 13 under 59 over 18 holes on the opening day of the Inter-Services Golf Championship, which got under here at 6666-yard PAF Golf Course in Islamabad yesterday.
Taimur Naseer, carded seven under 29 at front nine holes and six under 30 at back nine by completing a record breaking 13 under 59 over 18 holes. The promising Taimur made seven birdies at front nine at hole no, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9 and similarly after five consecutive birdies at front nine holes, he also made birdies at six more birdies at 12, 14, 17 and 18.
Taimur broke the Pakistan record of Ahmad Baig who created the record of hitting 12 under par 60 while playing at Royal Palm in Lahore. Besides this, young Taimur, an in-form golfer, succeeded in breaking another record of 11 under par 61 created by international golfer, Shabir Iqbal while playing at PAF Golf Course in Peshawar.
In the overall team position, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is leading with 265 score over 18 holes. The team comprising of Wing Commander, Atif Hussain Khan (77), Sqn Ldr Adeel Hashmi (72), CWO Nisar Hussain (74), Senior Tech, Muhammad Ashfaq (67), Senior Tech, Taimur Naseer (59) and Cpt Tech, Zubair Hussain (67) over 18-holes.
While Pakistan Navy is struggling at second spot with a total score of 273, including: Cadre Tariq Ali (86), Captain Atif Shah (82), MCPO Amjad Yousaf (69), FCPO Ansar Mahmood (67), PO Ali Naqas (67) and Lt Muhammad Sohail (70).
The third position is currently dominated by Pakistan Army with their total score of 298 over 18 holes on the opening day comprising of Major Muhammad Zia Uddin Khan (78), Major Ali (85), Major Abbas (80), NK Muhammad Naeem (68), NK Muhammad Ziaraf (75) and Sepoy Muhammad Ashfaq (77).
To his achievement, Taimur said:
"I am trying hard to perform a key role in my team's success. I played my round and thanks to Almighty Allah for my excellent round. I hit all regulations and that is why made birdie after birdie on front and back nine." the record breaker said.
Playing international events for Pakistan, Taimur Naseer said that he is gearing up for the forthcoming Asian Pacific Amateur Golf Championship to be played in China in September this year.
Taimur of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is top most amateur player of the country and being Pakistan No. 1, he also got the title of the 58th National Amateur Golf Championship-2019, CAS Open Golf Championship 2019, DHA Golf Championship and COAS Open Golf Championship during the current year.
The Inter-Services Golf Championship would continue for three-day over 56-holes under the aegis of PAF Sports Control Board with teams from Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy vie for the top honor.
