Ayesha Corps win IGFC Michni Cricket Sports Gala 2019 title
Ayesha Corps defeated Angur Corps in a dramatically ended final by two runs in the in the IGFC Sports Gala at Parchaway Ground, Peshawar.
Ayesha Corps defeated Angur Corps in a dramatically ended final by two runs in the in the IGFC Sports Gala held under the aegis of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North) 212 Wing Swat Scout at Parchaway Ground, Peshawar.
Commandant Swat Scout Col. Muhammad Tahir Khan was the chief guest on this occasion. Lt. Col. Salahuddin, In-charge Constabulary Training School Michni Sharbat Khan Afridi and large number of spectators were also present and witnessed the thrilling final.
Speaking on this occasion, Muhammad Tahir Khan Khattak said that the aim and objective of the IGFC Sports Gala at Michni is to involve the youth of the area in healthy sports activities. He said sports is vital for character building besides teaches us tolerance as in sports one should win and the other should lose.
He said for national prosperity healthy youth are the key and that is why the govt is also focusing on youth activities. He also appreciated the youth for a successful holding of Frontier Corps Sports Gala wherein the youth took part in different sports activities.
Col. Muhammad Tahir Khan Khattak said that holding and involving youth in healthy activities is meant to develop better coordination and understanding between forces and masses. He said such activities would be organized on regular basis so that to provide competitive exposure to the youth besides helping them to highlight their hidden talent.
A total of eight teams took part in the cricket event. Besides cricket other events also part of the Frontier Corps Gala. In the Aman Football Tournament under Swat Scouts (Frontier Corps KP (North) was also played at Tehsil Mullaghori, District Khyber from March 23 to April 24, 2019.
Commandant Swat Scouts Col. Muhammad Tahir Khan Khattak gave away trophies along with notables of the area. He also announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 for the winners and runners-up teams. The event ended with Commandant's interaction with youth and notables.
