Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clinches 1st Tribal District Games Ju Jitsu Martial Arts trophy
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South Waziristan and Kurram gabbed the first three positions in 1st ever Tribal District Games - Ju Jitsu event at Jamrud Sports Complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
District Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clinched the title of Jujitsu Martial Arts after grabbing five gold medals, KP was followed on the runner up spot by South Waziristan with five silver medals and a bronze medal while the third position went to Kurram with a silver medal and five bronze medals.
For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Din Muhammad, Zubair, Fazal Amin, Suleman and Ibrahim won gold medals while for South Waziristan, Asmat Ullah, Rizwan Ullah, Jaffar Khan, Babar, Aleem Gul and Javed grabbed six silver medals and Imtiaz, Sajid Ali, Khalid and Taimoor Shah managed to claim bronze medals.
In the female events, District Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got overall first position by securing 60, Mohmand got second position with 45 points while Reema of KP was declared as best athlete of the Games.
A total of 200 female players took part in five different games comprising athletics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and tug of war wherein Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took first position. In the Volleyball Mohmand beat Khyber by 25-22, 25-21 and 25-20, in the Badminton Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kalsoom, Rabia and Saba beat Manahil, Bushra and Benish of Mohmand by straight sets in the final game.
In the Table Tennis event's final, Sana, Reema and Fatima of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Sidra, Muskan and Alishba in straight sets. In the Athletics, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa managed 32 points and took the first position, followed by Mohmand with 25 points.
In the 100 meter race, Reema of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won a gold medal while Sidra finished second and Kalsoom of Mohmand settled for the third spot. 200 meters race saw Manahil of Mohmand winning at top spot and claimed a gold medal, followed by Reema of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Shazia of Bajaur on second and third positions respectively. Reema of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also won a medal in the Long Jump category with Sidra and Kalsoom following her on second and third spots. Discus throw, once again stood Reema, winning a gold medal, yet again with Saba and Rimsha finishing for the second and third spots.
Deputy Commissioner District Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mehmood Aslam was the chief guest on this occasion who witnessed these games being held and later also awarded the high achievers of the Games with medals and trophies.
District Sports Officer, Rahad Gul Mullah Gori, Assistant Director Female Games, Nazia Zaki, Event Manager, Ayub Khan, Principal Girls College Jamrud, Abida Azeem, Assistant Information Officer, Shehla Gul, Secretary General KP Ju Jitsu Association, Tehseen Ullah Khan, Coach PAF, Allah Gul Afridi and officials were also present.
