Top seed Muhammad Abid shines in McDonald’s Junior National Tennis Championship 2019

Top seed Muhammad Abid overpowered Sikander Hayyat by 2-0 in the McDonald’s Junior National Tennis Championship here at PLTA courts, Lahore.

The main draw of the McDonald's Junior National Tennis Championship 2019 exploded into action here at Punjab Tennis Academy, Lahore.

Total 10 matches were decided on the opening day of the men’s singles main draw as top seeds advanced to the next round. Top seed Muhammad Abid overpowered Sikander Hayyat 6-1, 6-2, Osama Khan outlasted Salman Ali 6-0, 6-2, Salman Ayyaz beat Talha Sakir 6-2, 4-6, 12-10, Imran Bhatti thrashed Zain Ch 6-0, 6-0.

Earlier in the men’s singles qualifying round, Hassan Ali beat Muqeet Ahmad 8-4, Talha Sakir beat Hasnain Baloch 8-5, Hassan Kamran beat Naveed Zafar 8-3 and Sohaib Waseem beat Athetham Sattar 8-2. 

McDonald’s country head operating Amir Malik, along with PLTA officials, will inaugurate the event today (Friday) at 4:30 pm. PLTA Secretary and Tournament Director Rashid Malik welcomed the appointment of Mr. Naseeb as tournament coordinator. He lauded Naseeb’s efforts for the contribution towards organizing a good number of tournaments as coordinator and hoped that he will continue to play his role in making the event a success.

Punjab Lawn & Tennis Association is organizing the McDonald’s Junior National Ranking Tennis Championship 2019 form 18th- 23rd April at Punjab Tennis Academy Bagh-e- Jinnah Lahore.

The events which are contesting in the championship include men’s singles, ladies’ singles, seniors 35 plus Double, Girls U18 singles, Boys U18 singles, Boys under 18 double, Boys under-14 singles, Boys under-14 doubles, Boys/ Girls under-12 singles, Boys/ Girls under-10 singles, Boys/ Girls under-10 doubles.
