Pakistan clinch 1 gold & 3 silver medals in Jiu-Jitsu World Cup for Universities & Students of Higher Education 2019

3 member Pakistani squad won one gold and three silver medals in the 2019 Jiu-Jitsu World Cup for University & Students of Higher Education in Thailand.

Jiu-Jitsu International Federation organized the test event by inviting only College and University Students from its member countries as this specific type of Martial Arts is gaining more and more fame among the youth. Among several other world class participating nations, the Pakistani Jiu-Jitsu team was able to etch their country's name at the 6th spot in World Universities Jiu-Jitsu Cup 2019.

Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation sent three of its best fighters who were fit to take part in this international event, those players consisted of 1 female while the other three male fighters. The male players included: Muhammad Ali Rasheed, Dilawar Khan Sannan, Rafiq Sarwar, Muhammad Fazal and the only female fighter: Fatima Irfan. Tehseen Ullah accompained the squad as Team Coach.

With the outstanding and incredible performance of the unpredictable Fatima, she won, not just a gold medal, but also a silver in 57-KG Ne-Waza category and Duo Classic Mixed category in which her partner was Dilawar Khan, respectively. 


Pakistan’s Dilawar Khan and Muhammad Ali Rasheed earned third position in Duo Classic Men category and claimed the silver medal and yet another one to get successfully at winning was  Dilawar Khan, who won a silver medal in 77 KG Ne-Waza Men’s category.

However, the overall winner stood the host country, Thailand followed by Uzbekistan settling as the Runner-Up while Kazakhstan managing the third spot. 


Khalil Ahmed Khan, President Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation congratulated the winners and commended the efforts of the Association’s Secretary, Tariq Ali, in ensuring the participation of the aforementioned athletes.
