Peshawar retains 14th Inter-Divisional Judo Championship title

Peshawar team won the title of men's category while Kohat claimed the title of women category in 14th Inter-Divisional Men and Women Judo Championship which successfully concluded at Mardan Sports Complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The 14th Inter-Divisional Men and Women Judo Championship was organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judo Association in collaboration with Mardan Regional Sports Office at Mardan Sports Complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that featured teams belonging to various districts of the country, fighters from which were seen competing with all their might so as to earn top honors in the championship.

Among several other talents judokas, Peshawar fighters were able to retain their title in the Men's category through clinching five gold medals, however in Women category, Kohat took the first spot by winning three gold and two bronze medals and Peshawar managed to stand on the second position with one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mardan, Dr Qasim Ali Khan was the honorable chief guest along with President KP Judo Association, Masood Ahmad. Mardan Regional Sports Officer Mr. Kashif Farhan and KP Judo Association General Secretary, Mr. Muhammad Jalal were also present on the concluding ceremony of the championship.

ADC Mardan, Dr Qasim Ali Khan addressed at the closing ceremony that:

Regional Sports Office is making all out efforts for the promotion of all games in the division and sports now a days has attained new heights in the world. Holding of this event would certainly help raising the standard of the Judo game in Mardan. 

Qasim Ali Khan also congratulated President KP Judo Association, Masood Ahmad and Kashif and all players and officials who have participated in this event.

"All possible measures are being taken by Regional Sports Office to provide maximum sporting facilities to the provincial players and I assure full support and cooperation for holding the National Judo Championships in future." he added.
