Warriors & XI Stars Cricket Clubs register victories in ICA Cup 2019
Warriors beat Young Capital and XI Stars defeated Classic Cricket Clubs to mark their wins in Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) Cup 2019 at XI Stars Ground in Islamabad.
Warriors and Young Capital Cricket Clubs were battling for the win in the first match of the day in which Warriors Cricket Club's boys defeated the opponents by two wickets. The opponent team players gave quite a hard time to the winners as batting first, Young Capital team posted 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Ilyas emerged as top scorer for them with 35 runs. Hamza bowled brilliantly and bagged 4 wickets for 11 while Asim claimed 3 wickets for 26.
However, Warriors team, in response, chased the target in 19.4 overs losing 8 wickets. Shan Ali played the match-winning knock of unbeaten 30 while Hamza and Jabbar scored 27 and 24 runs respectively. Azam captured 3-22 and the team altogether, working hard enough, earned their team the win of the match.
In the second clash of the day, XI Stars and Classic Cricket Clubs were up against each other in which X Stars team stunningly claimed the win in the match against the opponent team; Classic by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Classic Cricket Club boys could score 153 losing all their wickets on the final delivery of the 20th over. Moeed Shaikh played well and gathered 25 runs while Abdur Rehman contributed with 23. Naeem took 2 wickets for 25. Where as in reply, XI Stars team achieved the target in 17.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. Saad hammered 50 and Ibrahim unbeaten 48. Nadeem took 2-33.
Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) has organized the ICA Cup 2019 that is featuring a noticeable number of cricket clubs from all over the federal capital of the country and the players from these respective teams are seen competing with all their talent to earn the ultimate title of the tournament.
