In the first singles match, Abdullah Adnan suffered 2-6, 4-6 defeat at the hands of Kai Shiang Yang 2-6, 4-6 while Zalan Khan was beaten with the final score line of 4-6, 0-6, 0-1 by Cheng Tang in the second match.
In the doubles encounter, the Pakistan pair of Abdullah Adnan and Rayan Jawad lost to Yu Shiang Huang and Cheng Tang 3-6, 3-6. Pakistan will now be up against Thailand on Tuesday (today).
Pakistan have been placed in Group C with Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Philippines.
"Pakistan players played well but have to improve mentally on crucial points. We had chances but the players couldn't avail them. We will fight better Inshallah." Pakistan Junior Davis Cup team non-playing captain Rashid Malik said.
