20th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament - Southern Zone advances to semi-final stage
Associates, RLCA, Fact Date Engineering and Shafqat Swaleha teams have qualified for the semi-finals of 20th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament (2018/19) - Southern Zone matches which are being played in Karachi.
Omar Associates, Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA), Fact Date Engineering and Shafqat Swaleha have moved closer to claiming their spots in the Southern Zone semifinals of the 20th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament 2018-19. With the final phase of the preliminary rounds approaching, these four teams, after having performed consistently in their earlier matches, appear better poised to reach the zonal semifinals.
Omar Associates head the table in the Group A with six points from four outings while Shafqat Swaleha are placed second with five points. Gold Bridge Media and Haseen Habib are also in the hunt, having claimed four points each.
Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) and Fact Date Engineering share the top position in the points table in the Group B. Both of them have aggregated six points and are to enter the knockout rounds with Friends XI having an outside chance. Quetta and AA Pakwan have moved out of the race for the semifinals.
A total of about 107 teams from all over the country are competing in the annual tournament this time which has been organized by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA). This mega cricket event has been held every season since its launch a couple of decades ago. In the last season, there were 103 teams and the event was won by Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) of Southern Zone.
The Southern Zone champions will be competing with the finalist of Northern Zone in the National Final which is to be played in Lahore.
