DFA Sheikhupura defeats Model Town Society to win TB Awareness exhibition football match
District Football Association (DFA) Sheikhupura convincingly won over Model Town Society 2-0 in the TB Awareness exhibition football match played at Model Town C Block ground in Lahore.
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by MTB bacteria. The World Health Organization declared TB a "global health emergency" in 1993 and 2006, the Stop TB Partnership developed a Global Plan to Stop Tuberculosis that aimed to save 14 million lives between its launch and 2015. This shows the emergence of awareness towards this health issue for which this football match was aimed at.
The District Football Association (DFA) Sheikhupura and Model Town Society were the two teams up against each other and tried their best to name the victory to their side but DFA boys seemed too strong for the losing team as they were not just good with speed in the ground but also their goal-keeping, defence and blocking was too much for Model Town Society boys to handle. The winning team did not allow a single goal to pass through their net post which left the loser team with no goals at their side at all.
Avra was the player who earned his team a 2-0 victory as he slotted both the goals past his opponent players with the great assists of Talha Afzal. The first goal was scored in the first half while the second landed into the loser team's goal post in the dying moments of the game.
