Karachi North Hawks toppled the defending champions Rangoonwala CC through Adeel Khan and lifted the trophy of Leopards Courier Royal Premier League || at Al-Mansoora Ground in Karachi.
A hurricane knock from Adeel Khan inspired Karachi North Hawks to a six-wicket victory over holders Rangoonwala CC in a high-scoring final of the Leopards Courier Royal Premier League Season 2.
After being asked to bat first, Rangoonwala amassed 234-4 in the stipulated 20 overs. Left-handed opener Imran Ali set the tone with a 31-ball 48 (five fours and three sixes) before Nadeem Javed and Daniyal Rajput came together to put on 139 for the fourth wicket. Nadeem finished undefeated with a 42-ball 81 (five sixes and five fours), while Daniyal hoisted seven sixes and hit two fours in scoring 69 off 30 ball. Shaz and Mohammad Asad grabbed two wickets each.
Karachi North Hawks began their chase in spectacular style as man-of-the-match Adeel (81 off 31 balls, eight sixes and five fours) and Ahmed Hussain (49 off 25, six fours and three sixes) added 98 in just 44 deliveries for the first wicket. Shahzar Hasan then bludgeoned five sixes and three fours in scoring a 34-ball 62 not out before North Hawks reached the target with 13 balls to spare. Off-spinner Nasir Owais claimed three wickets for 31 runs.
Zaheer Ahmed Sheikh, Former first-class cricketer and Royal Cricket Club President was the honorable guest of honor who at the end awarded the trophy to the winner team and a cash pursue of Rs. 100,000 to the winner team's skipper Shaz Shahjani and Rangoonwala CC Captain, Touheed Khan bagged Rs. 40,000 and the the team settled for the Runner-Up spot. Rs. 5,000 each were presented to Shahzar Hasan who was declared the best Batsman along with Mohammad Asad for the best Bowler and Ahmed Hussain was adjudged Player of the Tournament.
This mega cricket event was organised by upcoming cricket organizer, Zubair Sheikh with the huge sponsorship from Leopards Courier who thus stood the title sponsor for the event. It was the second successful event for this league.
