BS History wins Women Sports Spring Festival 2019 trophy
Department of BS History clinched the trophy by securing 17 points in the thrill-packed Women Spring Sports Festival organized by Frontier College Women at its premises with the collaboration of Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Director Colleges Higher Education Department Prof. Dr. Subhan was the chief guest on this occasion. Principal FCW Dr. Azra Khursheed, Miss Zoya Qamar of the Education Department, Director Sports Raham Bibi, Lecturer HPE Gul Sanobar Jamshed, members of the faculty and students from all other colleges were also present. The Spring Sports Festival was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by district winner in Qirat Qaria Nazoo, followed by National Anthem.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Subhan lauded the management of the FCW, the oldest and prestigious female institution of the province, for organizing Spring Sports Festival for female students and their families. He said involving female in such like activities would held in boosting the overall confidence level of the girls’ students. He said it would also help us to know the talents and strengths of our youth.
“Through such like activities it would also provide an opportunity to the female students to know each other and learn good things from each other experiences,” Dr. Subhan added. “It would also help us to know how much one possessed a talent and how it could be utilized for the betterment of our people,” he said, adding, “Through these activities we could also find youth leaders, can assess their strengths and potential and make them useful citizens for the future development of the country.”
The government, he said, fully endorsed such like activities in the schools and colleges to prepare the students for toughest future challenges. These activities provide a self-determination, improve confidence level and highlight the talent one has, Dr. Subhab said.
He said the enthusiasm witnessed among the female students means they understand how to act for a prosperous Pakistan. He said making small projects for festivities would help female for coming up and play their due role besides creating opportunities of women empowerment.
He said at school and college level, the govt always keep communication and safety a priority and we consistently work at creating a safe and fun space for everyone and making sure everyone feels heard through the process.
Earlier, in her welcome speech, Prof. Dr. Azrah Khursheed highlighted the aim and objective of holding the Spring Sports Festival soon after completion of the examination of BS Program. It is a relief for the students after their tough exam, she added.
Dr. Subhan also went through various stalls of food including Chaat, Dahi Ballay, Shawarma making, Lassi, spices dishes like Pokora, Samosa, Maccrani, Chips, Chapali Kabab, Haleem Gar, Gol Gupy, delicious barani and other varieties of homemade delicious dishes, Mehandi, smileys making on faces, fun-making, work of the home economics department, computer science department, computer juggleries fun, cold drinks, dresses stalls, make-up, face-making points that attracted large number of girls to visit.
Girls wearing traditional costumes by depicting a village like life look also mesmerize the students who enjoyed and went for selfi’s. There were other enjoyments as well for the female like riding on two horses and white and bronze one, two camel, decorated Tanga for rides and full throat music which enthralled the large number of participants in the main ground.
At the end, in the different competitions, SB History got first position with 17 points, Pak Studies and Zoology were declared as joint second with 16 points each and department of Law got third position with 15 points. The judges Miss Rashida, Assistant Professor GGDC Shabqadar and Miss Afsheen, Lecturer, HPE, declared the results.
The chief guest Dr. Subjan, who also announced Rs. 5000 for the winners, runners-up and third position holders, gave away trophies and medals.
