Faisalabad claims Inter Division Punjab Archery Championship 2019 title
A total of 9 divisions took part in the 2019 Inter Division Punjab Archery Championship which successfully concluded yesterday at Hockey Ground in Sarghodha.
Sports Board Punjab (SBP) in joint efforts with Spots Department Sarghodha, organized the Inter-Divisional Punjab Archery Championship into the current year that featured a total of about 9 divisions, archers from which were seen displaying their best of accuracy skills on the target so as to earn top honors in the championship.
The competitions were held in both male and female categories in which 2 different distances were decided to be competed at that are: 30 Meters and 70 Meters.
Faisalabad region secured the top spot in the Men's category, followed by the hosts, Sarghodha who now stands as the Runner-up and the third position was managed by Gujranwala district. Whereas in the Women category, Faisalabad region ruled and claimed the first position. The second and third spots went to Bahawalpur and Gujranwala, respectively.
In the Boys 30 Meters Individual contests, archers from Faisalabad dominated the event again and won the first two positions through, Zeeshan Ayub and Abdul Rehman. While the third position was managed by the host player, Zia Ul Rehman. 30 Meters Girls Individual competitions were also held, in which the first position was yet again claimed by the player from Faisalabad namely, Sadia BiBi. She was followed by Hina from Bahawalpur and Filza of Gujranwala took the third spot.
70 Meters Boys Individual winner stands Faisalabad's Hafiz Abdul Rehman. Idrees from Gujranwala got successful on the second spot and Faheem from Faisalabad managed to claim the third position. 70 Meters Girls Individual crown went to Nighat from Lahore and Sadia BiBi from Faisalabad collected another trophy by winning the second position and Aqse from Rawalpindi took the third spot.
Pakistan Archery Federation President and Divisional Sports Office's Shah Fareed along with Iqbal Sheikh, Commissioner Sarghodha and MPA, Shameem Aftab were the honorable chief guests on the occasion, who witnessed the competitions and at the concluding ceremony, awarded the high achievers with trophies, medals and certificates.
