5 member Pakistani golf squad to feature in 13th Nick Faldo Series Asia Grand Final

Humna, Rimsha, Arsalan, Saqib and Damil will be representing Pakistan in Nick Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2019 for which they have reached Vietnam where the event is scheduled to be staged starting from today at Laguna Lan Co Golf Course in Da Nang.

The Faldo Series aims to create access to the sport for a younger audience through grass-roots initiatives at its tournaments. A successful not-for-profit organization that is raising the profile of golf around the world. For Sir Nick’s contributions and service to golf, Nick Faldo received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in November 2009. Sir Nick is the only living British golfer to receive such an honor and with 6 Major championships, more than 40 tournament victories and a total of 98 weeks as the world’s number 1 golfer, he is broadly regarded as the most successful golfer that Britain has ever produced.

The five member Pakistan's Junior Golf Team has landed in Vietnam and it includes 3 boys and 2 girls that are: Muhammad Arsalan, Muhammad Saqib, Damil Ata Ulla, Humna Amjad and Rimsha Ijaz. These selected golfers will be representing Pakistan in this mega international golfing event battling against top nation's from Asia Pacific. 


Muhamamd Arsalan and Rimsha Ijaz will be competing in the under 21 category while Saqib will be playing in the under 18 category Damil Ata Ullah Humna Amjad will have contests in under 16 category.

Dr Asma Shami, Chairperson of Ladies Golf in Pakistan has been sent as the Manager of Pakistan Junior Golf Team, which was selected after a series of trials. “For ensuring noteworthy performance, the PGF arranged a four-day training camp at the Defence Raya Golf Course, where Brig (r) Bajwa served as golf coach while Max Babri looked after the mental aspects and his two lectures inspired the young team members in learning the art of crisis handling. Based on the technical training, the team looks more battle-hardened and ready to go into a combat with the best young ones of Asia,” she expressed.
