Department of Zoology clinched the trophy of their stunning performances out of the total 22 departments part of the 6th Annual Day Sports Festival which started under the aegis of Directorate of Sports University of Swabi.

Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Aqib Ullah Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Bannu Professor Dr. Abid Khan, Professor Dr. Sanjoki of Agriculture Department, Principal Fazale Haq Mardan Ijaz Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Swabi Imtiaz Ali Khan graced the occasion as guests.
The colourful ceremony was started with the recitation from Holy Quran, followed by National Anthem of the kids of Fazal-e-Haq College. The national flag along with the flag of the University of Swabi carried by the male and female students who were wearing traditional costumes depicting the traditions of all the provinces comprising Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan.
Current National Badminton Champion Murad Ali, gold medalist of the South Asian Games in Javelin throw and Director Sports University Iltaf Hussain, bronze medalist of the South Asian Games Muhammad Shah and national team coach Nadeem led the smart March Past.
The mart March Past largely enthralled the sitting spectators as each of the 22 participating contingent wore multi-colour dresses and also carrying balloons. The contingents comprising Agriculture, Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Economics , English, Geology, Law, Mathematics, Microbiology, Management Sciences, Physics, Pharmacy, PCT, Sociology, Psychology, Tourism and Hotel Management, Urdu, Journalism and Zoology.
Captain of the Cricket team Baseer Muhammad took the oath on behalf of all the participating more than 2500 male and female athletes to be taking part in 12 different Games including cricket, hockey, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, athletic, basketball, Netball, squash, cycling, handball and football.
Soon after the oath taking ceremony, stunning demonstration of karate led by Mira Khan, the black belth 2 Don and gymnastic under the master Munawar Shehzad turned the whole complexion into a joyful and melodious one. The skills of the students during their karate demonstrations including some of the breaking skills with foot, hands and head and aerobic exercises in gymnastic compelled the sitting spectators to give thundering applauses.
A thrilling Chatti Race of the female, sack race of the male, tug of war of the faculty and administration, musical chair of the female, kids race of the participating kids added joyful moments to the overall colourful opening ceremony.
The traditional “Atharn” dance performances by students of Fazale Haq College provided more amusements for the sitting spectators. There are varieties of program wherein the male and female students enthusiastically participated. In the Chatti Race Mehreen Huma of Pharmacy won gold medal by taking first position, followed by Asfa Ayaz of Chemistry and Hadia Khan of Agriculture Department.
In the Sack Race Shah Rukh won gold medal, follow by Bilal Khan of BBA and Muhammad Osama of Mathematics Department.
In the Musical Chair Fatima Khan of PCRS won gold medal, followed by Aysha Bashir of BioTech and Afshan Anwar of English Department while in the spoon-egg race Aysha won gold medal, followed by Manahil and Aysha Ali. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes to the position holders.
Speaking on this occasion Vice Chancellor Imtiaz Ali Khan lauded the role of Director Sports Iltaf Hussain for organizing the event to be continued for one month wherein 12 different games would be organized and more than 2500 players would take part.
Imtiaz Ali Khan said that any student wherever he or she wants to take part in the sports activities the University would endure would be facilities. The University is very keen as sports is an integral part of the academic.
