1st Punjab Golf Association (PGA) girls golf match tees off today
Girls in the age category of 14 and below are to compete in this one day first ever Punjab Golf Association (PGA) which will be held today at Defence Raya Golf Course in Lahore.
According to the information provided by Ladies Golf in Pakistan's Chairperson Dr Asma Shami, the competitions will be held over nine (9) holes and will be contested on stroke play format and in case of a tie, the winner will be decided through a sudden death playoff.
This is the very first effort made by Punjab Golf Association (PGA) for the teen girls who provide them with an opportunity to display their talent in this expensive sport as this competition is open to all girls falling in the age bracket of 14 years and below.
The youngest golfer to participate is Noor Bano, as she is just five years old while another one is Zoha Zeeshan who is six and others falling in 10 years and below age bracket are Zaina Zeeshan, Natalia Shahzadi Chaudri, Zoha Asif and Anaya Fareed.
There are other 15 golfers belonging to the age group between 11 and 14 years. The girls in the age group 11 to 14 years will be competing against each other while the second category is the age group 8 to 10 years and competing in the youngest category will be in age bracket below 7 years.
At the concluding session of this golfing event, the overall winner will get a glittering trophy and three prizes in each age category will also be awarded to the high achievers of the event by Governor Punjab’s wife.
