WAPDA & Army dominates first day of Servis Tyres 3rd Women National 7's Rugby Championship
The 2019 Servis Tyres Women National 7's Rugby Championship commenced with WAPDA and Army teams making it ahead of other participating teams at Pakistan Rugby Academy in Lahore.
The third edition of Women National 7's Rugby Championship is being organized by Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) which is featuring a total of seven (7) teams in which 3 teams from Punjab namely; Punjab Greens, Punjab Yellows and Punjab Blues and two departmental teams: WAPDA and Army and one team each from 2 different divisions that are: FATA and Sindh are taking part. Servis Tyres are once again the title sponsors of this rugby championship as well.
Players from the very first of the league matches were seen battling against each other with all their might so as to book a further spot in the championship but it the first match, it was WAPDA team who beat the vulnerable side of Sindh and ended the match in their favor by a convincing score line of 24-0. The the second match witnessed, Army team's victory over Punjab Greens by a 17-0 score line.
Yet again WAPDA players dominated the third match defeating Punjab Yellows by 32-0. Army team also won their second match against FATA division by a huge margin of 32-0. Sindh and Punjab Greens then made a comeback with winning their other matches against their opponents, Punjab Blues and Punjab Greens by 17-5 and 17-0, respectively.
