Eighteen golfers from Sindh will be featuring in the inaugural Pakistan Ladies Amateur Golf Championship being played at Lahore Gymkhana on March 5-6.
Eighteen golfers from Sindh will be featuring in the inaugural Pakistan Ladies Amateur Golf Championship being played at Lahore Gymkhana on March 5-6.
Tahira Raza, an avid golfer and president of First Women Bank, will be leading the contingent, the Sindh Golf Association announced on Tuesday.
“A meeting and orientation session with the ladies golfers was held here at Karachi Golf Club to brief them about the playing conditions in Lahore Gymkhana,” SGA president Asad I.A.Khan said.
He said majority of the players are from Karachi Golf Club including some former captains. “They play golf regularly with extra preparations for the upcoming event,” he said.
The event will be played over 36 holes between women golfers from across the country.
Farah Waseem, a former national tennis champion, is also part of the squad.
The Pakistan Golf Federation is launching this historic event on the initiative of Asma Shami, a member of PGF Executive Committee and the moving spirits behind the competition. SGA, as a goodwill gesture, is contributing Rs5,000 for each member of team.
