Karachi South bags 8 Gold medals in South Cup Karachi Boxing Championship 2019
Karachi team won 8 gold and 3 silver medals in the 2019 South Cup Karachi Boxing Championship which concluded successfully at Ustad Ali Muhammad Qambrani Boxing Stadium (MABC) in Karachi.
The "South Cup" Karachi Boxing Championship 2019 was organized by Karachi South Boxing Association (KSBA) in collaboration with Sindh Boxing Association (SBA) for which all the boxing clubs affiliated to Karachi South Boxing Association (KSBA) registered their fighters who participated in this event.
The fighters had fights in two (2) different age-classes that were: Junior Class (Under-16) and Youth Class (Under-18). From the very first day and till the end, boxers in their respective categories were seen competing hard with all their power against each other so as to earn top honors in championship.
The Karachi South claimed the top spot by winning 8 gold and 3 silver medals followed by Karachi West team that won 3 gold and 4 silver medals while the third position went to Karachi East with 3 gold and 2 silver medals.
Sindh Olympic Association Vice President, Syed Mehfooz Ul Haq along with Pakistan Boxing Federation Vice President, Asghar Baloch was the honorable chief guest who witnessed the fights and award the winners with medals on their high achievement in the championship.
Addressing the crowd, Sindh Olympic Association Vice President, Syed Mehfooz Ul Haq said that to develop the sports in Pakistan, we will always be there to provide our full support and we are determine to keep this support up for years to come. And as far as the sport of boxing is concerned, Lyari has always been the home to the boxers who have kept the flag of the country high in several international events.
