Aisam-ul-Haq along Santiago move into quarters of Mexican open 2019

Unseeded pair of Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi along partner Santiago Gonzalez defeated fourth seeded pair of Lukasz Kubot & Marcelo Melo by 2-0 to move into the quarterfinal of Mexican open 2019 at Acapulco, Mexico

The unseeded PAK-Mexican pair of Aisam and Gonzalez, ranked 67th and 57th, defeated fourth seeded pair of Lukasz Kubot & Marcelo Melo by 2-0 in 1 hour 41 minutes battle to move into the quarterfinal of Mexican open 2019 at Acapulco, Mexico. 

In the 59 minutes long first set, Aisam along partner put a shiny start as they broke first serve of 4th seeded pair and then hold their serve to put pressure on opponents while Lukas & Melo broke the 4th serve of PAK-Mexican pair to leveled the set at 4-4.Both pair hold their sever and equalized the points at 6-6. In the tie breaker, Asiam along Santiago produced a skillful game as they broke 2 serves of opponents to win the set by 7-6(4).

The second set started with the same story Asiam & Santiago kept playing aggressively and gave tough time to opponents with some good serving as they gave away no easy points on their serve and built pressure on the opposition which resulted as they won the match and the set by 6-3 in 42 minutes struggle.

Now, PAK-Mexican duo of Aisam & Santiago will face brothers Feliciano López & Marc López from Spain at 6:40 am (PST) on 1st March 2019.

Qureshi reached a high ranking in doubles of No. 8 in 2011, has won 18 tournaments, and has reached the quarterfinals or better in each of the four Grand Slams.

The Abierto Mexicano Telcel, one of 13 ATP World Tour 500 series tournaments, switched to blue hard courts in 2014 after 20 years on clay. The event, held at the Acapulco Princess Mundo Imperial, is a favourite destination amongst players. In 2007, Acapulco won the ATP World Tour award for best tournament of the year in its category.
