PSF to host $39,000 CAS International Squash Championship 2019 from 1st April

Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) will host the Pakistan Chief of Air Staff International Squash event under the supervision of Professional Squash Association (PSA) from April 1st -5th at the Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad.

 
Around two-dozen foreign players will be seen in action here at the Mushaf Squash Complex as Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is set to host the high-profile Serena Hotels Chief of the Air Staff International for men as well as the Pakistan International Squash tournament for women from April 1st -5th. 

The championship carried total prize money of $39,000. The men’s event carries $28,000 while for women tournament it will be $11,000.

Besides Pakistan, world ranking Men & Women players from Austria, Egypt, Hong Kong, Iran, Malaysia, Netherland and Thailand will participate in the mega event.

Tayyab Aslam, Ahsan Ayaz, Farhan Zaman, Shahjahan Khan, Amaad Fareed, Abbas Zeb and Amir Atlas Khan will represent the hosts.

Pakistan’s Faiza Zafar, Madina Zafar, Anam Mustafa Aziz, Zahab Kamal Khan, Zoya Khalid, Riffat Khan, Noor-ul-Huda, Amna Fayyaz, Saima Shoukat, Moqaddas Ashraf, Komal Khan, Fehmina Asim and Laiba Ahmad will be representing Pakistan in the tournament.

Last year it was double Egyptian success in the finals in Islamabad, as top seed Rowan Elaraby defeated compatriot Nada Abbas in straight games while fifth-seeded Youssef Soliman came from two games down to beat men's top seed Leo Au to win CAS International Squash 2018 Pakistan title.

Earlier, world # 21 Leo Au of Hong Kong asserted his dominance as the top seed in the tournament when he crushed Pakistan's last hope by beating un-seeded Tayyab Aslam in straight games (3-0) in 43 minutes semifinal.
