Al-Noor College and SAU win SSB Trophy Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament 2019 openers
The 2019 SSB Trophy Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament got underway with Al-Noor College and the host, SAU winning the opening matches at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) in Tando Jam.
The opening match of the tournament saw Al-Noor College and Government Degree College Tando Jam battling with all their might to register the very first win into the tournament but it was Al-Noor College boys who came out the strongest winning the match over their opponents by a convincing 16-10 score line.
The star boy for the winners was Shahab Shahid who managed to dub 5 perfect shots right into the basket. He managed this win along with the hard efforts made by his team mates as they claimed the match altogether and registered the very first win of the tournament.
While the second encounter saw the hosts, Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam out scoring their opponent team, LUMS University Jamshoro by 27-14.
It was Imran Niyazi who scored 8 points as he was well assisted by Balaj and Imran who contributed in their team's first win by each making five perfect shots into the basket.
SAU Tando Jam Director Sports, Anwar Hussain Khanzada was the honorable chief guest who declared the event open and also present on the occasion were, Engineer, Ahsan Hameed Qaimkhani, Shaukat Sangi, Farhan Soomro, Abdul Haq, Mushtaq Solangi, Ghulam Umar Dasti, Taheed Chotoo.
Sindh Sports Board (SSB) in joint efforts with Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) once again has organized this mega basketball event which has been named as "SSB Trophy Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament".
